U01B — Analytics & data-driven decisions

Analytics & decisions

Part B of Unit U01 — the analytics workflow and data-driven decision-making.

Unit U01 Part B ~12 min read + built-in quiz Level: Beginner
Before this: Complete U01A (data, information, insight).

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:

  1. Define data analytics in plain language.
  2. Name the four phases: collect → clean → analyze → explain.
  3. List the five steps of data-driven decision-making.

1. What is data analytics?

Data analytics is the collection, transformation, and organization of data in order to draw conclusions, make predictions, and drive informed decision-making.

Your repeat workflow:

1Collect — spreadsheet, app, database, survey
2Clean — fix errors, duplicates, wrong types
3Analyze — totals, trends, comparisons
4Explain — clear story for decision-makers
You do not need to code on day one. Spreadsheets + clear thinking are enough. SQL, Python, and BI dashboards come later — one lesson at a time on biladi.cloud.

2. Data-driven decision-making

1Define the problem — What decision are we making?
2Collect relevant data — What evidence do we need?
3Analyze — What does the data show?
4Validate with stakeholders — Do experts agree?
5Act & monitor — Implement and track results

Data-driven = facts and analysis guide strategy — not opinions alone.
